FAQS

How will Symposium sessions be impacted by COVID-19?

The Field Museum is closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We are committed to following all CDC safety guidelines, and, if necessary, we will adjust Symposium programs accordingly. We will notify registered participants with any event changes.

Important Note: The Museum does not currently have a requirement, but we do encourage donors who attend our in-person events to be fully vaccinated. The Field Museum requires masks be worn by all staff and visitors over the age of 2 when indoors (except when enjoying a meal). Museum leaders are monitoring the impact of the Delta variant and rate of transmission and will communicate through this website and email should plans for any in-person programs change. Please make certain our emails aren’t going to your “spam” inbox.

What is the deadline to register for the Symposium?

The deadline for registration is Friday, September 3, 2021. Due to limited capacity, we encourage you to register early. If you have any questions, please contact Alexandra Lucio at alucio@fieldmuseum.org or 312.665.7098.

Do I need to purchase a ticket for the Symposium?

It is our pleasure to organize this complimentary week of thought-provoking conversations and sessions for the Field Museum’s closest friends and supporters.

The one exception is Death: Life’s Mystery—A Conversation about Loss, Science and Religion on Tuesday, September 14 at 12pm. This panel discussion and luncheon has a $25 ticket price which can be paid online here [link] or in-person at the event.

What should I do if the Zoom links are not working?

If you are having trouble accessing the Zoom links, please contact Alexandra Lucio at alucio@fieldmuseum.org or 312.665.7098, and she will be happy to assist you.

I missed a virtual session. How can I rewatch it?

All virtual sessions will be recorded and available to be streamed at a later date. We will share the link after the conclusion of the Symposium.

Where should I park at the Field Museum?

We will provide validated parking at the Soldier Field North Garage. Please request a parking voucher from staff at your Symposium session. The Soldier Field Garage is open from 5am to 5pm every day. Parked cars can leave after closing hours.

If you require wheelchair-accessible parking, please contact Alexandra Lucio at alucio@fieldmuseum.org or 312.665.7098.
